Land and memory: La Lombardia’s agricultural heritage

Family history and care for the land provide a starting point for a conversation about its future.

A place and a family story

La Lombardia is a family property in Malchinguí, Ecuador. The owners report approximately twelve hectares. This context introduces the place; it does not replace a boundary survey or a review of property documentation.

Agriculture as a business

Years of work, irrigation and care for Hass avocado trees are part of that story. The owners currently describe around one thousand Hass plants and drip irrigation. Fruit availability is confirmed directly, case by case; these facts do not establish a harvest or an income forecast.

Preserving family history also means distinguishing recollection from documented information. Photographs, dates and accounts may enrich the archive over time, following family review. The documentary image below shows the actual property; the avocado feature image is illustrative.

Memory and an open horizon

Exploring solar use does not erase the agricultural past. A responsible conversation can consider current land use, access, environmental care and family needs before defining a change. No final decision has been made about a possible transaction structure.
